Tournament Results

East Lake Toho, everyone’s favorite lake.
Launch fees way to high. Lots of fish just small and
lots of pepper grass. This time it was just way too
cold, the day started out at 40 degrees and warmed
up to a balmy 60 degrees, cloudy with just a hint of
sunshine and of course wind. The water ran from 61
degrees to 63 degrees and the shallower you fished
the colder the water.
Two teams got smart and decided to pay and not fish
and no it wasn’t Rob and Mark.
We had 19 boats pay and 17 fish, just enough to
make it interesting. The launch seemed to go well,
no mix up on the calling or who had which number,
which always seems to be a problem at East Lake.
However, there seemed to be a mix up on the return
as we actually had a boat come in late. They didn’t
report a problem just that they had fish but were late.
       I really hate East Lake; it is where we always get
bad news. It was where Ralph Blackwell and Ernie
Newsome’s deaths were reported to the club and now
the news that Tom Rewis has passed away. Our
deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Memorial
information will be forth coming.
       First place went to Brad Watson and Joe Lewis
with 5 fish at 15.74 lbs. Brad also caught the Big
Bass weighing 8 lbs. even. Nice fish.
       Second place went to Butch McKee and Glenn
Rogers with 5 fish at 13.88 lbs.
       Third place went to Mike Sikes Sr. and Mike
Sikes Jr. with 5 fish at 13.34 lbs.
       Fourth place went to Jason Fisher and Buddy
Cohrs with 5 fish at 12.40 lbs.
       Good going guys. It was a great showing
considering the conditions.
       Next month is the organizational meeting, there
are already items being brought up for changes with
the club, so come and vote. We will also be
discussing Istokpoga so come reserve a room,
Butch says there are new people wanting to join the
club and want to reserve rooms but those there last
year get first choice. So let us know if you are
coming.
       We fish Mullet Lake next month. Hope to see
you there.
